Switzerland is known for its Christmas markets and each town around Basel has its own special one. Handmade and local products, gourmet food and drinks are presented in the most beautiful Christmas atmosphere. We will be at the Ängelimärt with all our craft beers and of course our Christmas beer Ventuno.

Allschwil is very special to us. We have been working with Milchhüsli beider Basel for over two years. A special partner for Fermento because of the local cheese, which is produced according to traditional standards and processes, as is our craft beer. Our Christmas beer Vewntuno, the wheat beer Mistral, the Fermento Amber Ale, the Pilsner Golden Breeze and the dark beer Liberica have all found a home at Milchhüsli.

You will find us in the food corner at the Ängelimärt on 2 December. We are looking forward to great food and will therefore be there with all our craft beers. In addition to our bottled beers, we will also have beer on tap: Golden Breeze and Amber Ale. However, we are especially excited to share our Ventuno, a honey beer with a strong flavour, as a Christmas tradition.

While we are on the subject of food, we will also be sharing our non-alcoholic Thorin Tungthøl beer sauce, which goes particularly well with grilled meat, sandwiches or raclette. The idea to create a beer sauce came to us last year during a visit to Canada. I tried a beer sauce from a large dark beer company and found it incredibly sweet. Obviously the ketchup was more present than any other ingredient. We developed a recipe for a balanced product based on Fermento dark beer, balsamic vinegar, (real) tomatoes and fermented habanero peppers. The result is simply marvellous and represents the right balance of umami, acidity, spiciness, sweetness and a hint of heat.
